Karen Feldman, Co-Director
Karen brings more than 20 years of experience in the field of youth leadership development.  She is the Founder and former Executive Director of Youth In Action (YIA).  Under her leadership, Youth In Action grew from just an idea into one of the most recognized youth organizations in Rhode Island. Karen earned Leadership RI’s prestigious David Sweet award for her achievements.  She has a Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College, and a Master’s degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Chace Baptista, Co-Director
Chace, who is 23 years old, has been working with Karen since he met her at age 14 at YIA.  Chace has become one of the most recognized up-and-coming leaders in the State of RI.  In addition to earning Leadership RI’s Emerging Leader award, Chace was also inducted in the Martin Luther King Hall of Fame for lifetime achievement.  This is the only award of its kind in the country.  Chace serves on many high-profile Boards, including the Governor’s Urban Education Task Force and the Selection Committee for the next State Education Commissioner.
